Instrument Ratings

An Instrument Rating complements a Commercial Pilot Licence in your aspirations of working in the industry as a pilot.

Or for Private pilots the Private Instrument rating is a great edition to your licence.

Both Single Engine (SE) and Multi Engine (ME) Instrument Ratings are available.

We put particular emphasis on night flying as the Instrument Rating allows a pilot to fly IFR at night. We believe students need more experience than the minimum hours required by the regulations, to feel comfortable should they need to conduct IFR operations at night.

We have a variety of Single & Multi Engine aircraft available to conduct your instrument training.

3 Step Process

Full Time, Part time or Casual

It is recommended that before you commence an instrument rating that you have undertaken the theory component required by CASA for the rating,

PanAir offers regular theory courses to assist with your required knowledge

For a Multi Command Instrument rating you will need to undertake the IREX examination and for a Private Instrument rating you will be required to have completed the PIFR examination.

Learn how to depart safely in instrument conditions, navigate efficiently en route, and conduct instrument approaches during day and night operations.

You will also be trained in all the required emergency procedures for Instrument flying

After completing the required flying, you will be ready for the flight test. The test is conducted by a Flight Examiner and will include both a oral questionnaire and a flight component.
